Back to Earth… In progress

Started this project as a personal challenge to do a submission to Harlequin romance. I’m starting to think that maybe I do have a knack for writing romance stories. I have dabbled in them before with the short stories and erotica, but haven’t yet done a full-length work of romance. The outline is working up pretty quickly and without too many headaches. But I am on a deadline to get at least 10,000 words done for this writing sample need it for the submission process so I’m pushing through.

The deadline for the Harlequin dare submissions is tomorrow and I swear I’m tired of looking at this synopsis. I haven’t finished it yet but with my handy-dandy voice dictation, so much progress has been made. I’m thinking I might indulge and some coffee or matcha tea later to give my tired brain a boost. I have been having some delusions about turning this into a 2 book sort of deal, but I need to really give it more thought as I do not have a workable idea for a second book quite yet. But I’m also only about six thousand words and two the rough draft, and I do believe given some more time and up in my work account will grant me some magical inspiration/insight how about whether there should be a second book or not.

Submit this story to Harlequin dare last week with 10,000 words. And now, I do feel a sense of accomplishment about that, but I have to keep in mind that the story might not give the stamp of approval from the publisher. But even still, I’m going to finish the story because I can still publish it on my own. That is the true power of self-publishing is that no one can really stop you from doing what you love.

The story itself is coming along pretty well. I took a couple of days off after I hit the 10,000 word mark to work on the other stories that are in my work rotation, so that was good. They gave me time to go over the events that I’ve already written into the outline and kind of flesh out the characters personalities and goals and all that shit in my mind. So I added some fleshy details to that that are totally hot and add a delicacy and complexity to the story that I was looking for. There’s something in my mind that won’t let me write something that isn’t multi-layered. So I won’t. ???❤

Who goes to get a hammy ham sandwich in the middle of the night and ends up getting her face bitten by an unhandsome stranger? This girl over here. I guess the lesson in that is: If you are a single woman, don't go buy anymore sandwiches in Brooklyn after 10 p.m. ✓ If you are a single woman, don’t go buy sandwiches in Brooklyn by yourself. ✓ Don’t go buy anything by your single woman self. That's obviously asking for trouble. ✓ Stay in the house for the rest of eternity to properly avoid men with teeth as all single women should do. ✓✓✓ Check out Tragically Hilarious Tales About Love on Amazon & Kindle for more.
